Self-Certification Small Business Concern

Public Law 111–240 § 1207, Small Business Jobs Act of 2010, which authorized the State Trade and Export Promotion (STEP) grant program, limits provision of services to 'eligible small business concerns.' To ensure compliance with this requirement, firms receiving assistance under the STEP program must self-represent themselves as such, using the self-certification letter. To self-certify itself as an 'eligible small business concern,' a firm asserts that it meets the requirements of: (a) 13 C.F. R. Part 121, Small Business Size Regulations; and (b) four additional requirements unique to the STEP Program that are listed in P.L. 111-240 § 1207. To meet the Small Business Size Regulations, please check the website link provided to verify one's NAICS code versus # of employees OR gross revenue. The four additional requirements are detailed on the self-certification letter.
